About Nick Strub

Nick was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in September of 2006 and spent more than five years fighting his battle
Nick grew up in Port Byron, Illinois, and went to Riverdale Schools. His loves were the Mississippi River, hockey, scuba diving, and his childhood sweetheart Krissy.
He graduated from Riverdale in 2000, and from Iowa State University in 2004 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
In 29 years, Nick touched the lives of so many people; he was a loving husband, caring son, nurturing brother, super-fun uncle, and best friend to many.
He married Krissy in 2008, built a career and a house, and carried on with his work, including travel to the Netherlands, Spain, and Thailand. With barely a pause, he carried on, working, playing, and living life on his own terms, despite chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and radiation.
Nick never let his disease get in the way of his passion for life. He had the warmest smile, the kindest heart, and a great sense of humor.
Nick's life, as well as so many others with Ewing's Sarcoma, was cut far too short. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched.
